One of the best-loved names in country music is the subject of Always...Patsy Cline, a funny and touching tribute as narrated by one of her most devoted fans and friends. In spite of her tragically brief career, Patsy Cline's voice continues to enthrall millions of fans and influence many of today's country and pop singers. This intimate show celebrates the career and life of the singer of such hits as "I Fall To Pieces," "Your Cheatin' Heart," "Walkin' After Midnight" and "Crazy."

She's
still charismatic after all these years
Carpenter Center staging of 'Always... Patsy Cline' showcases the singer's raw power - and a warm personal bond.
In the 41 years since she was killed in a plane crash at age 30, the mystique of country-Western singer Patsy Cline has only gotten bigger. That means Ted Swindle's "Always... Patsy Cline," a tribute to the singer's life and career, is sure to succeed for years to come.
Giving any talented singer-actress the chance to impersonate Cline while delivering many of her greatest hits is the real draw of this 1997 show, a near-ideal blend of theater and live concert performance.

"Always...Patsy
Cline" will have you humming a fine tune
You don't have to be a fan of country music to enjoy Musical Theater West's "Always...Patsy Cline," playing through May 9 at the Carpenter Center.
"Patsy Cline" is a rousing example of popular entertainment. Featuring Christa Jackson in the title role, with Sally Struthers as Louise (her devoted fan and best friend), this production knocked the socks off the opening night audience as each performer strutted her stuff and commanded the stage for two solid hours.

Crazy For
"Always... Patsy Cline"
Sally Struthers can relate to the woman she portrays in "AlwaysS¯Patsy Cline," the musical set to open Saturday at the Carpenter Center produced by Musical Theatre West.
"I was avid about Peter Sellers," Struthers said of her equivalent of Patsy Cline to Louise Seger. "He was the sun, the moon, the stars. I had the opportunity to meet him at an art gallery reception. When Louise first meets Patsy she just screams. Me, when I met Peter, I peed my pants. I can understand that out-of-body experience with meeting someone you admire."

Patsy
and pal A story about friendship and country music
THERE HAVE been a few musicals floating around Long Beach lately paying tribute to musical stars who died young in plane crashes. But unlike last month's "Buddy," ' "Always Patsy Cline," ' which opens Saturday at the Carpenter Center and stars Christa Jackson and Sally Struthers, is not a biographical study of the famous country singer.
