MUSICAL THEATRE WEST OPENS 53rd SEASON WITH THE KING AND I

September 15, 2005 Musical Theatre West opens it's 53rd season with THE KING AND I, starring Daniel Guzman as The King of Siam and MTW favorite, Elizabeth Ward Land as Anna, playing at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center November 5 - 20, 2005.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic story of an English school teacher in the court of the King of Siam has enchanted audiences for the last 50 years. The score is full of immortal songs like "Getting To Know You," "I Have Dreamed," "Shall We Dance?"and "Hello, Young Lovers." One of the largest cast to grace the Musical Theatre West stage, 55 actors, will include 21 young children playing the roles of the Royal Princes and Princesses.

THE KING AND I
is being directed and choreographed by Roger Castellano and musical direction by Dennis Castellano with the remainder of the artistic staff including Todd Proto as the costume co-ordinator, Philip Allen handling the sound design and Steven Young as the lighting designer. Honorary Producer for this MTW production are Sara Wenkle Kaplan and Jon and Amanda Hall. Youth performances are underwritten by Molina Healthcare and the Arts Council for Long Beach.

TICKET INFORMATION Tickets prices for THE KING AND I at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center range from $25.00 to $50.00.

CHILDREN UNDER 12 are $25.00 to any performance.

RUSH TICKETS
are available for $25.00 one hour prior to curtain, subject to availability.
