FOOTLIGHTERS
SPARKLES WITH
"HOLLYWOOD FASHION REVISITED"

The
Musical Theatre West Footlighters January "Music in
the Morning" was a fantastic way to start the year.
Over 260 attended the event on January 25th at the
Long Beach Petroleum Club. Chaired by Noreen Wood,
with Ginny Oleen and Barbara
Rathbun assisting her, the morning raised almost $6000 for
the New Home Campaign and over $1100 for the Actors
Fund.
The
morning began with a boutique featuring 18 vendors
exhibiting their wares from jewelry, clothing, purses
and hats to watches, candles, kitchen and bath accessories.

Guests
then dined on a delicious salmon lunch followed by
the unique fashion show "Hollywood Fashion Revisited."
Curator
Greg
Schreiner has collected costumes from the Golden Age
of Hollywood. Singers performed musical numbers while
modeling costumes from great films and TV series of
days gone by. From Julie AndrewÕs wedding dress in
THE SOUND OF MUSIC to Tarzan's loin cloth and Nolan
Miller's "Dynasty" creations for Joan Collins and
Linda Evans, the audience
was enthralled with a glimpse of backstage Hollywood.
The membership drive that morning enlisted 45 new Footlighters
bringing the total to 230! President Shari Nemirow
presented a special gift to Chair Noreen Wood and
Mary Baxter was honored as the 200th member. Future
"Music in the Mornings" are scheduled for April 5th
and June 21st featuring previews of the April and
July shows.
