Phillipa Soo was born in Libertyville, Illinois, graduated from Juilliard in 2012, and originated the role of Eliza Hamilton in the Broadway’s critically acclaimed hit Hamilton: An American Musical.  She originated the title role of Amélie starting with the out-of-town tryout at Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre and repeated the role on Broadway in 2017.
