May 27 - George TakeiGeorge Takei is an American actor, author and activist best known for his portrayal of Commander Sulu in the television series “Star Trek”. Takei has appeared in countless other television and film productions, and in 1986 received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has a lengthy record of public service through his involvement with organizations such as the Japanese American Citizens League and the Human Rights Campaign. Takei’s personal experience in United States internment camps inspired the musical Allegiance.
