Mikael Mattsson is a Los Angeles based actor, fight choreographer, and stage combat professional for both screen and stage. Born and raised in Sweden, he began his career over 20 years ago, and has been actively teaching both acting and stage combat since 2016. His formal education includes, a diploma from Folkuniversitetet in Stockholm, a B.A. in Theatre from USC School of Dramatic Arts, and a Masters Degree in Acting from Guildford School of Acting in the United Kingdom. Mikael began his Stage Combat journey in 2008, attaining several qualifications with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. He has since 2009 been an active member of the Academy of Performance Combat, also in the U.K., where he has trained with some of the top stage combat professionals in the world. Mikael has been choreographing around L.A. since 2012, and has worked on everything from commercials to Shakespeare. He is excited to bring his stage combat knowledge to MTW for a 4 nights master class.
