Perry is thrilled to join the MT West In The Heights! Perry had the honor of playing Usnavi on the National Tour of Heights and won a BroadwayWorld Award for Best Lead Actor in a Musical. Credits: Usnavi - In The Heights (National Tour), Slim –iLLA: A Hip-Hop Musical (O’Neill NMTC and NYMF), and original Prince Naveen at Disneyland (Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee). Perry is a founding member of the #Bars hip-hop workshop with Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal, member of TheBringAbout with Jennifer Jancuska, and cast member of the 2016 ABC Diversity Talent Showcase. Alyssa Gomez (Nina)
Alyssa is elated to make her Musical Theatre West debut with a show so close to her heart! A New York Native with a B.A. in Acting/Directing from Emerson College, Alyssa just came off of the 2nd Broadway National Tour of Motown the Musical. Previous roles include Mimi Marquez (Rent), Whatsername (American Idiot), Pilar (Legally Blonde) and Nina Rosario (ITH) at Toby's Dinner Theatre/Midtown Arts Center. Mario Rocha (Kevin)
A native of Los Angeles with proud roots in Monterrey Mexico; studied Music & Theatre at UCLA. Mario appeared as Benedict in Much Ado About Nothing as well as Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for East LA Classic Theater. Regional theater includes SELENA the Musical, Diego Rivera in FRIDA and understudied Ceasar Chavez in CEASAR and RUBENdirected by Ed Bagley Jr. Favorite on-screen roles include Pancho Villa amongst his 90 IMDB credits. Mario is proud to appear as Kevin with Musical Theater West and does so in honor of his father who worked and sacrificed for his children.
Elvira Barjau (Camila)
An alumna of Berklee College of Music, Elvira has performed in L.A., NYC, and worldwide while having the honor of sharing the stage with The Manhattan Transfer, Natalie Cole and Maureen McGovern. Elvira received a Broadway World Award Nomination for Best Cabaret Artist (Los Angeles), for her cabaret, “Feelin’ Good”. Favorite roles include: Helene (Sweet Charity), Gigi and Ellen (Miss Saigon), Marian Paroo (The Music Man), Anita (West Side Story), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Lady Larkin (Once Upon A Mattress) & Phyllis Dale (42 Street). Carleton Bluford (Benny)
Carleton was Ensemble in Pioneer Theater Company’s, It happened one Christmas and the Regional premier of The Count of MonteCristo. He also played Riff Raff in Rocky Horror Picture Show and Graffiti Pete inPioneer Theater Company’s “In the Heights”. Recent film credits include You May Now Kill The bride (A lifetime Original Movie) Saints & Soldiers: The Void, Stop Pepper Palmer (Best Supporting Actor, WorldFest Houston) and most recently, the remake of Saturday’s Warrior. He has recently played Benny in “In the Heights” at the Moonlight Amphitheater in San Diego and is excited to continue to be at Musical Theater West.
Teresa Castillo (Vanessa)
A Long Beach native, Teresa is thrilled to be performing at Musical Theater West. After focusing the past several years in television and raising her two young children, Teresa is excited to be returning to her first love, the stage! Her past achievements include guest starring roles on BONES, SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, to name a few. She most recently spent 4 years playing ‘Sabrina Santiago’ on ABC’s GENERAL HOSPITAL. She’d like to thank her family and friends for their love and support. Victoria and Sebastian, this is for you!

Candida is beyond thrilled to be coming back to the barrio and making her debut with MTW! She has appeared in many productions including South Pacific (Bloody Mary, ITL Award), In The Heights (Abuela Claudia, ITL Award), Oklahoma (Aunt Eller, ITL nominee), Lend Me a Tenor (Maria, ITL nominee) and All Shook Up (Sylvia), to name a few. Briana Bonilla (Daniela)
Briana is delighted to be making her MT West debut. This will be her third time performing in the show In the Heights and she couldn’t be more blessed. She was born and raised in California, but attended school at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Some of her previous roles include Ursula in The Little Mermaid, Joanne in RENT, and Christmas Eve in Avenue Q. She would like to thank the production team for giving her this incredible opportunity; as well as, her family, friends, fiancé, and teachers who have been a constant support system in her life.

Los Angeles Native, Luis Martinez, began his performance career as a musician. His love for music lead him to the theater, which inspired him to seriously pursue technical dance training in high school as well as continue his musical efforts. Now a year out from graduating AMDA College & Conservatory of the Performing Arts, he has been able to use his degree to further perfect his theatrical craft. Ariana Alvarez (Ensemble)
Ariana is beyond thrilled to be representing her Cuban and Puerto Rican roots in her Musical Theatre West debut of In The Heights. She has danced on the Latin Billboard Awards with Puerto Rican artist Chayanne, Taylor Swift at the MTV VMA Awards, Dominican Artist Prince Royce, the Disneyland Resort and Season 2 of the hit CW show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Alvarez has graced the pages of national print campaigns and commercials and is currently known as the "tissue test girl" in the Crest Whitestrips national commercial.
