Tom Zofrea

Tom Zofrea is a seasoned theatre professional and craftsman with decades of experience in set design for theatre and theme park entertainment, and is an expert craftsman for both scenic painting and prop manufacturing. Tom holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers, where he was taught by several New York professionals, including John Jenson. He has received several industry awards for his work as a Senior Art Director at Disneyland Resort. Tom has designed many sets for the Walt Disney Company all over the world, including the parks in Paris, Hong Kong, and he opened the first show in the Evergreen Playhouse in Shanghai Disneyland. At the Walt Disney Company, he has specialized in creating immersive environments, bringing to life many animated and live-action classics from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. His Disney Color-Fest: A Street Party started in 2019 and is still running. He is responsible for designing the Halloween and Christmas decorations at Disneyland Paris. Tom has also worked as a professional scene painter and prop maker. He has worked at Playwrights Horizons in New York City and South Coast Repertory Theatre in Costa Mesa. As the prop master for Playwrights Horizons, he worked on the original production of Driving Miss Daisy, and provided props for the first workshop of Into the Woods. At South Coast Repertory, he worked with the dean of American set design Ming Cho Lee. Tom was also the resident set designer for Go-Fame Youth Theatre in Long Beach.
