Fresh out of high school, Barbara landed the role of a Nun in a tour of The Sound Of Music starring Florence Henderson and directed by Michael Kidd. She went on to perform Roxie Hart in Chicago, Mazeppa in Gypsy, Sheila in the first regional production of A Chorus Line, Anytime Annie, Dorothy, and Maggie in multiple 42nd Street productions, and Helene, opposite Bebe Neuwirth, in Sweet Charity, Sondheim on Sondheim, Annie/Lily St. Regis, Company/Amy, and Dames At Sea/Mona.
