Cathy Crane

Cathy Crane was a professor of Theatre, Costume Design, and Make-up at LBCC for over 35 years. She received her MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and a BFA in Art Education at Asbury College in Kentucky. Cathy’s been designing costumes for Theatre, Dance, Film, & Opera for almost 50 years. She was nominated for an Ovation Award in 1994 for her designs of Opera Comique at ICT and an LA Weekly Theater Award in 2001 for The Three Sisters at the El Portal Center Theatre in North Hollywood. Other designs were; Pasadena Shakespeare Company’s Tartuffe, El Portal’s  Shooting Craps (with Harold Gould) and Out of Order (directed by Ray Cooney), Shakespeare Orange County’s Twelfth Night, Richard III and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Court Theatre’s  Spaghetti & Apple Pie, Back Alley Theatre’s  Amazing Grace, ICT’s  Autumn Elegy, Vanishing Points, Quiet End, Eden Court, Song of Singapore, Romance, Romance and Tennessee in the Summer, to name a few.
