FAQ

We are working diligently to welcome you back to the theatre. We hope to be announcing dates and mailing your tickets by mid-August 2021.

We are still working with the City of Long Beach, the State of California, CSULB and our performers’ union, Actors’ Equity to finalize our re-opening plans for performances at the Carpenter Center.

Once these plans are confirmed, you will not need to take any action; your seats will remain the same, and new tickets will be issued as soon as possible.

Stay tuned for an announcement about a very special August outdoor concert of a beloved show before the official season begins.

Why haven’t I heard anything yet?

We are working with the City of Long Beach, the State of California, the CSU school system and Actors’ Equity Association in order to perform for you once again.  As you can imagine there are lots of moving parts, and until these are all locked down, we’re unable to announce definitively what our next step is in getting you back to the theatre.

Do you have a schedule or show titles yet?

No, but our current hope is to produce six titles in the Carpenter Center between fall 2021 and December 2022.  Pending availability and indoor live event protocol, we hope to bring you shows in October 2021 and February, April, July, October and December 2022.  Previously announced titles may change due to numerous factors including availability.

When will I receive my season tickets that I already paid for?

New tickets will be mailed to you as soon as possible. We currently anticipate mailing season tickets by mid-August 2021 (subject to change). Your subscription seats will remain the same (if state mandated social distancing protocol permits), we will seat single ticket buyers in seats as close to the seats you purchased as possible. If your mailing address or personal information has changed, please email your new information to info@musical.org

What dates will I receive?

Your tickets will be assigned within the same performance day and week as you are normally subscribed to. For example if you attend the Sunday matinee on the first Sunday of every production, you will receive tickets to the first Sunday. Individual, non-subscription, ticket buyers will receive the same day of the week and time, although the performance week may shift in order to give you seating as close to the seats you originally purchased.

What if I am unable to attend a newly scheduled performance?

Current subscribers and individual ticket holders, tickets may be exchanged at a yet to be determined date. As per our policy, subscription tickets (not including preview subscriptions) may be exchanged for no fee up until 24 hours before the performance. For preview performance subscribers and individual ticket buyers we will offer one exchange free of charge.

Are Musical Theatre West subscriptions and single tickets refundable?

We are committed to providing you with the full series in alignment with your subscription purchase. While Musical Theatre West subscriptions and single tickets are final sales, you are welcome to gift, transfer or donate your tickets back as desired. Subscription transfers will be available at a date TBD.
